There’s no feeling quite like successfully landing a skateboard trick. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, everyone enjoys landing a new trick. In this blog post, we’ll show you how to frontside 180 on a skateboard.

What is a frontside 180?

A frontside 180 is a type of trick that is done on a snowboard. It is a spin that is performed by rotating your body 180 degrees in the opposite direction of your takeoff. This type of trick is usually done off of a jump or a rail.

How to do a frontside 180 on a skateboard

There are many different ways to do a frontside 180 on a skateboard. One way is to approach the ramp or obstacle with speed, and when you get close, pop the board up into the air by pushing down on the tail and pulling up on the nose. As the board goes into the air, turn your body in the direction you want to go, and when the board comes down, land on the back truck.

Tips for landing a frontside 180

There are a few things you can do to help improve your chance of landing a successful frontside 180. First, make sure you are well practiced on this trick before trying it in a contest or on a big jump. Second, try to get as much speed as possible before initiating the flip. And finally, focus on keeping your body lined up with the board throughout the rotation. If you can keep these things in mind, you’ll be landing frontside 180s like a pro in no time!

Variations on the frontside 180

There are many different ways to do a frontside 180. You can do a straight-up 180, or you can do a variation with a spin. There are endless possibilities when it comes to mixing in different grabs and spins.

One of my favorite variations is the Japan Air. It’s a really smooth, stylish move that always looks good. To do the Japan Air, start by doing a normal frontside 180. But as you’re flipping, reach down and grab the toe edge of your board with your front hand. Then, when you land, twist your body around so you’re facing the direction you came from. It’s a really cool move that always impresses people.

Another variation that I like is the Nosegrab Frontside 180. To do this one, start by doing a straight-up frontside 180. But as you’re flipping, reach out and grab the nose of your board with your front hand. This one adds a little more difficulty, but it’s worth it because it looks so cool.

Common mistakes when trying a frontside 180

There are a few common mistakes that people make when trying to do a frontside 180. The first is that they try to rotate their body too much. This will cause you to lose balance and fall. Instead, focus on rotating your board. The second mistake is not getting enough speed. If you don’t have enough speed, you won’t be able to rotate your board all the way around. Make sure to take a good run up and use your edges to get some speed. And finally, don’t forget to keep your head up! Looking down will only make you lose balance.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to variations on the frontside 180. It’s a move that everyone should learn, because it’s so versatile. So get out there and start practicing!
