Chesney Skatepark
Chesney Skatepark is a popular skateboarding destination located in Wichita, Kansas. The skatepark is named after Brian Chesney, a local skateboarder who passed away in 1998.
The park was designed by local skateboarders and built in 2003 with the help of community donations and volunteers. It features a variety of elements, including quarter pipes, banks, rails, and ledges, as well as a bowl and a snake run. The skatepark is open to the public and free to use.
Chesney Skatepark has become a hub for the local skateboarding community, hosting regular events and competitions. It has also attracted visitors from around the region who come to skate and enjoy the park’s unique features.
In addition to skateboarding, the park is also used for BMX biking and inline skating. It is located in a larger park called O.J. Watson Park, which offers additional amenities such as fishing, boating, and hiking trails.
